Pyotr Leonidovich Kapitsa (9 Temmuz 1894 — 8 Nisan 1984) 1937'de John F. Allen ve Don Misener'in katkılarıyla süper akışkanlığı keşfeden Rus bir fizikçiydi. Paris, Columbia ve Delhi, diğerleri arasında.
1978'de Nobel Fizik Ödülü'nü kazandı. Ayrıca birçok madalya ve akademik topluluk üyeliği aldı.
Atom enerjisinin askeri uygulaması üzerine araştırma yapmayı reddettiğinde, Josef Stalin'in gözünden düştüğünde uzun yıllar ev hapsinde tutuldu.
