Jonathan Swift (30 Kasım 1667 — 19 Ekim 1745), İrlandalı şair, yazar ve siyasetçi. İngiliz edebiyatının büyük yergi ustalarından biridir.
Bir din adamı olan Jonathan Swift, siyasetle yakından ilgilenmiş; felsefi, siyasi, dinî konularda yergiler yazmış; İngiltere'nin baskıcı politikasına karşı birbiri ardına çıkardığı siyasi broşürlerle İrlanda'da ulusal bir kahramana dönüşmüştür.
"Gulliver'in Gezileri" adlı romanı, Batı edebiyatının en çok okunan kitaplarından biridir. Dört bölümden oluşan kitabın ilk iki bölümünü içeren kısaltılmış basımları, dünya çocuk edebiyatının klasik romanları arasında yer almaktadır.
