Stalingrad Muharebesi süresince 102 No’lu Tepe olarak anılan Mamaev Kurgan bu dört ay süren vahşi savaşın aksiyon merkeziydi.
Şu an burada savaşta ölenler adına kurulmuş bir hatırat bulunmakta. Hatırat alanının merkezinde 72 metre yüksekliğinde bir Rusya Ana heykeli bulunmaktadır.
