Pescara, İtalya'da Abruzzo bölgesinin merkezi ve aynı adı taşıyan Pescara ili merkezi olan Adriyatik Denizi kıyısında bir liman kentidir.
Aterno-Pescaro Nehri'nin Adriyatik Denizi'ne katıldığı mevkide olan Pescara şehri büyük bir belediye olarak 1926'da o zaman Chieti ili içinde nehrin güney kıyısında bulunan Pescara komünü ile o zaman Teramo ilinde ve nehrin kuzeyinde bulunan Castellamare Adriatico komününün birleştirilmesinden doğmuştur.
Pescara'nın belediye sınırları içindeki nüfusu (31.12.2009 itibarıyla) 123.062 kişidir. Fakat varoşlarıyla birlikte şehirleşmiş metropoliten Pescara nüfusu yaklaşık 400.000 olduğu tahmin edilmektedir.
