İskoçya'nın batısında, Argyll ve Bute'nin güneybatısında bir yarımadadır ve Anakara Adası olarak bilinir. Yarımada, güneydeki Mull of Kintyre'den doğu'ya ve kuzeyde Batı Loch Tarbert'e kadar yaklaşık 30 mil uzanmaktadır. Kintyre'nin hemen kuzeyindeki bölge Knapdale olarak bilinmektedir.
