Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772-1834) İngiliz şair. İngiliz edebiyatına özellikle Kant ve Schiller’in sanat kuramlarını yansıtmış ve Wordsworth’la birlikte İngiliz Romantik şiir akımını başlatmıştır.
Coleridge’e göre sanat dış gerçekliğin üslupçu bir taklidi değil, kişisel yaşantının ifadesidir. Şiirin en önemli eksenini şairin özel duyguları, düşünceleri, inançları ve izlenimleri oluşturur.
Coleridge, «TheRhymeof theAneıenf Mariner», «Christabel», ve «Kubla Khan» şiirleriyle İngiliz şiirine demonoloji ve folklordan yararlanarak gizem ve büyüyü getirdi.
