Birleşik Krallık'ın en önemli dinî yapılarından birisidir ve İngilizler için geleneksel taç giyme ve defin yeri olmuş, daha sonraki zamanlarda bu özelliğini sadece kraliyet ailesi için sergilemeye devam etmiştir.
