Aapravasi Ghat
Hint Göçü Deposu
Genel bilgiler
Hint Okyanusu'ndaki Mauritius Adası'ndaki Port Louis'de bulunan, Hindistan'dan gelen sözleşmeli işçilerin toplandığı bir yapı kompleksidir. 1849'dan 1923'e kadar, yarım milyon Hint köle, Göçmenlik Deposu'ndan geçerek İngiliz İmparatorluğu'ndaki plantasyonlara nakledildiler. İşçilerin büyük ölçekli bu göçü, birçok eski İngiliz sömürgesi toplumunda silinmez bir iz bıraktı. Yalnız Mauritius'ta, mevcut toplam nüfusun yüzde 68'i Hint soyundan gelmektedir. Göçmenlik Deposu, Mauritius'un tarihi ve kültürel kimliğinde önemli bir referans noktası olmuştur.
