Genel bilgiler
São Domingos Kilisesi bir kilisedir, Lizbon ulusal anıtlar olarak sınıflandırılır, Portekiz.
Kilisenin tarihi 1241 yılında kutsanmıştır. O zamanlar şehrin en büyük kilisesiydi. 1910'da cumhuriyetin kuruluşuna kadar, kraliyet düğünlerinin geleneksel yeriydi.
Kilise üç kez hasar gördü. İlk kez tarafından depremin ait 1531. İkincisinde ise 1755 depreminde neredeyse tamamen yıkılmıştır. Yeniden inşası 1807'de tamamlandı. Sonunda 1959'da bir yangın kilisenin içini ve çatısını tamamen harap etti, iki itfaiyecinin ölümüne ve çok sayıda önemli tablo ve heykelin tahrip olmasına neden oldu. Bina 1994 yılında yeniden açıldı.
