Adı Dağdaki İyi İsa anlamına gelir. Tapınakta yer alan 116 metre boyunca tırmanan anıtsal, Barok merdiven hac alanının dikkate değer bir bölümüdür.
Tapınak, Braga'nın önemli turistik cazibe merkezlerinden biridir. 7 Temmuz 2019'da Braga'daki Bom Jesus do Monte Tapınağı, UNESCO tarafından Dünya Mirası olarak listelenmiştir.
