Pataliputra (Sanskritçe Pāṭaliputra; Pali Pataliputta) bugün Biher’den Patna olarak da bilinen Hindistan’ın Ganj Nehri’nin güneyinde yer alan şehir. Eski Çağ’da Magadha ve daha sonraki Maurya’nın başkentiydi.
MÖ 253’te Pataliputra’da 3. Budizm Konseyi toplanmıştır. Şehir, ilk Budizm’in en önemli merkezi olmuştur.
Antik şehrin ne zaman ve neden yıkıldığı tam olarak bilinmemektedir.
