Meşikalıların başkenti Tenoktitlan'da yer alan ana tapınaktı. Günümüzde Meksiko'da yer alır. Mimari tarzı Mezoamekica'nın geç Postklasik dönemine aittir. Tapınağa Nahuatl dilinde denilmektedir. Aynı anda savaş tanrısı Huitzilopochtli'ye ve yağmur ve tarım tanrısı Tlaloc'a adanmıştı, her bir tanrı için piramidin tepesinde ayrı merdivenlerle ulaşılabilen bir mezar bulunmaktaydı. Bitişik yapının ortasındaki kule, Quetzalcoatl'a rüzgar tanrısı Ehecatl olarak adanmıştı. Huitzilopochtli ve Tlaloc'a adanan Büyük Tapınak, tabanda yaklaşık ölçülerindeydi ve Kutsal Bölge'ye hakim oldu. İlk tapınağın inşaatı 1325'ten bir süre sonra başladı ve tapınak altı kez yeniden inşa edildi...
