- For over 100 years the house of “Maximilianeum” offers affordable rooms to young adults in training or study.
- The foundation stone for the Maximilianeum was laid in October 1857, and the building opened for use in 1874 after 17 years of construction work.
- During World War II, much of the building was destroyed and rebuilt by Karl Kergl before the Bavarian Parliament made the Maximilianeum its home in 1949.
- The perpendicular gothic masterpiece that is the Maximilianeum sits on Max Planck Strasse as it crosses the Isar River into central Munich.
- The Maximilianeum is home to the Bavarian Parliament ('Bayrischer Langtag') and is located on a hill just at the end of the famous Maximilanstrasse.
