1 Mayıs 1875 tarihinde inşa edilmiş olup Kuzey Londra'nın halka açık bir rekrasyon, eğitim ve eğlence merkezi olarak Güney Londra'daki Kristal Saray'a benzer olarak tasarlanmıştır.
Alexandra Palace, 1936 yılında BBC tarafından işletilen dünyanın ilk düzenli «yüksek tanımlı» kamu televizyon hizmeti merkezi olmuştur.
