Doğu Rodoplarda, Kırcaali şehrinin 15 km kuzeydoğusunda 470 m yükseklikte kayalık tepelerin üzerinde kurulu antik Trakya kenti. Arkeolojik araştırmalara göre, Perperikon’daki ilk yaşam izleri 6 000 yıl önceden, Bakır Taş Çağındandır.
