Founded in 1217 by Saint Francis, theConventof “SanFranciscoel Grande” in Madrid was essential for the urban and landscape definition of its area of influence.
The Palace, initially of modest dimensions, had to be extended, and so did the gardens, at the expense ofthe parkland, adding new and more spectacular fountains.
