Since 1992 it was called the Brest Drama Theatre, since 1995 — the Brest Drama and Music Theatre and since 2005 — the Brest Drama and Music Theatre named after the Lenin Komsomol. In 2005 the theatre was given the title “The Honoured Collective of the Republic of Belarus”. In 2009 the theatre was awarded the “Academic” status.
