- Ginkakuji (銀閣寺, “Temple of the Silver Pavilion”) is a Zen temple in the Higashiyama Ward of Kyoto.
- Ginkakuji is a Buddhist temple located at the north part of Higashiyama mountains.
- Local buses 3 or 5 will also get you there but stop at the Ginkakuji-michi bus stop it is slightly further away but very close and easy to find your way.
- Another reason is that Rokuonji became to be called Kinkakuji in the Edo period and then Jishoji, which was also the mountain villa, was named Ginkakuji.
