The Mississippi is a river in the U.S.A. It is one of the greatest rivers in the world: having a length of 3.770 kilometers. It originates in the Itasca Lake at an altitude of 450 meters above the sea level in the National Itasca Park and it empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The system formed by the Mississippi, the Missouri and the Jefferson rivers is the largest in North America.
