This Cathedral is located in the Kremlin. Apparently building of the Cathedral was commenced by Grand Prince Ivan III who laid the foundation stone in 1484. In 1484-89 Pskov architect built the cathedral which was consecrated by Metropolitan Gerontius. The frescoes date from 1508. unlike many other cathedrals which we saw- this one had a queue of women who were kissing an ikon near the door of diaconicon.
