Dünya ile 1:1 yörüngesel rezonansta Güneş etrafında yörüngede dolanmaktadır. Dünya gezegeninin ikinci doğal uydusu olduğu iddia edilmektedir. Tam yörünge tespiti ise 1997 yılında olmuştur. Cruithne adı, İngiltere ve İrlanda'da yaşadığı bilinen en eski Kelt kabilelerinden birini ifade etmektedir.
