  • Russian Orthodoxy believes firmly in the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. However, it rejects all modalistic interpretations of that sacred doctrine—interpretations so common in much of low-church protestantism, and among many contemporary Catholics. Rather, the Russian Orthodox emphasize the “oneness” of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, while acknowledging those three divine Persons as utterly distinct—with unique roles in the Godhead.
