• On July 27, Trafalgar Square will turn pink and blue as London Trans+ Pride celebrates its sixth year.
  • Built to commemorate Admiral Nelson, the square was named after the Spanish Cape Trafalgar where his last battle, The Battle of Trafalgar, was won.

  • The original name was to have been "King William the Fourth's Square", but George Ledwell Taylor suggested the name "Trafalgar Square".
