The statue is dedicated to volunteers, members of the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps, formed in 1943 from volunteers of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Molotov Regions. The authors were the sculptor L.N. Golovnitsky, and the architect E.V. Alexandrov in 1975.
