Botanical Garden named after I.I. Sprygin. The Penza Botanical Garden appeared thanks to the initiative of members of the city society of natural science in 1917. Since its inception, it has become a platform for scientific research carried out by renowned botanical researchers. In 1966, a fire broke out here, destroying the greenhouse with tropical and subtropical species (unfortunately, it was never restored).
