Henry is also best known for founding the Church of England in order to divorce his first wife Catherine of Aragon, who had failed to give birth to a living son, and marry his mistress Anne Boleyn. This was not possible under Catholicism, so Henry created a new branch of Christianity where divorce was possible and of which he was the Supreme Head.
