  • Throughout his 21-year career Yashin represented Dynamo Moscow, the club he joined in 1949. He did not have an easy start, with frequent slip-ups. However, Yashin managed to become the first choice goalkeeper in 1953 and kept his place until 1970. In 1958, as an ice hockey player, he declined a call-up to the Soviet National Hockey Team to focus on football.
