Vadstena Castle is located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Vättern in Sweden. Its construction was completed in 1545, the castle was built for fortification purposes by order of King Gustav Vasa. In the middle of the 16th century, the government of Stockholm expected an attack by the Danes, which necessitated the construction of new fortifications.
