  • This is why we made a point of visiting. Officially known as “Our Lady of Mount Carmel“, it opened in 1570 as Valletta’s first functional church. It has extensively re-built between 1958 and 1978, having suffered severe damage during World War 2. Standing nearby is the Anglican Cathedral of St. Paul with its iconic 60m spire.
