He played only for Dynamo Moscow from 1950-1970, represented the Soviet Union in 74 games from 1954-1970, winning the gold medal in 1956 Melbourne Olympic games and Euro 1960 in France. Yashin also played goalie for Dynamo ice hockey team during his first years trying to make a break into the senior squad of the football team.
