Islamic Center. Officially known as Masjid-al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al Auzam is the largest mosque in the Maldives. This 3 storey architectural landmark was opened in November 1984 by President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. It is named after one of the most celebrated Maldivian heroes, Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu.
