The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is the only Orthodox church in Buenos Aires. By the end of the 19th century, the city was home to a large number of Orthodox Arabs, Romanians, Greeks and Slavs, who appealed to the Russian Emperor Alexander the Third to build the church. After a few years, the parishioners of the church by national composition became exclusively Russian, as the Arabs and Greeks built their own parishes.
