  • A centrepiece on Plymouth's Hoe, Smeaton's Tower is one of the city's most recognisable and well-loved landmarks. The lighthouse was originally built out on the notorious Eddystone Reef in 1759. It was taken down in the early 1880s and approximately two thirds of its structure moved stone by stone to its current resting place.
