Hırvatistan'da yer alan eski şehirlerden biridir. Bu şehir Ravni Kotari bölgesinde ve Adriyatik Denizi kıyısında yer almaktadır. Şehrin nüfusu 2011 yılı itibarıyla 75,082 olup kapladığı alan 25 km²'dir. Bu şehir 1797'de Venedik Cumhuriyeti'nin yıkılmasından sonra 1805'ten 1813'e kadar Fransız egemenliğinde kalmıştır.
