Saint Hovhannes church (15-17th c.) also known as Meghru Vank is located in SW part of Meghri (Pokr Tagh district) up on a slope. It has a beautiful panoramic view of the city. Meghri is one of the largest sourthern towns in Armenia, nearly on the border of Iran. The church is covered in beautiful frescoes painted in a unique, Persian-Armenian style.
