Toledo'daki en eski yapılardan biri Alcazar'dır. Roma döneminden beri bir kale olmuştur. Yıllar içinde birkaç kez yeniden inşa edildi.
Alcazar, Toledo'nun en yüksek yerindeki bir tepenin üzerinde yer almaktadır. Birkaç kuşatmaya maruz kalmış bir taş kaledir. 1930'larda İspanya İç Savaşı sırasında ciddi şekilde hasar gördü. Toledo Alcazar, yıllar içinde birkaç kez restore edildi.
