Initially, the Borisoglebskaya Tower, like other round Kremlin defences, had four levels with combat windows. The upper tier, which served as a battlefield, was surrounded by 11 teeth. The present Borisoglebskaya Tower, which stands on the topography of the mountain slope, was built in 1972 under the supervision of Nizhny Novgorod architect S. Agafonov.
