Bratsk Hidroelektrik Santrali'nin inşası sonucunda Angara Nehri üzerinde derin bir koy oluştu. Bu rezervuara Bratsk rezervuarı denir. Hacim bakımından ise dünyada ikinci sırada yer almaktadır.
Rezervuar, adını sahilde bulunan Bratsk şehri sayesinde almıştır. Bratsk'a ek olarak, sahilde bulunan başka bir şehir daha var - Svirsk.
Rezervuarın geniş bir kullanım alanı vardır: nakliye, balıkçılık, kereste raftingi, su temini.
