Chavín de Huantar, en geç M.Ö. 1200 yılında kurulmuş, M.Ö. 400-500 yılları arasında, İnka öncesi kültüre sahip Chavín topluluğu tarafından işgal edilmiş bir antik kent ve arkeolojik sit alanıdır.
Sit alanı, Peru'nun Ancash Bölgesi'nde, Lima şehrinin 250 kilometre kuzeyinde, denizden 3,180 metre yükseklikte, Conchucos Vadisi'nin girişindeki Cordillera Blanca sıradağlarının doğusunda yer almaktadır.
Chavín de Huantar UNESCO tarafından 1985 yılında Dünya Mirası olarak ilan edilmiştir.
