Bu şehrinin bir girişimdir Ghent, Ghent Üniversitesi ve IMEC. Bina 10 Mart 2017'de açıldı. Adı, Scheldt'in dirseğine («krook») ve binanın şu anda bulunduğu mahallesi Waalse Krook'a atıfta bulunuyor.
