Arts and Crafts akımı'nı takip eden «Deutscher Werkbund» kurucularından birisidir.
Mobilya, porselen, ev eşyası vb. Günlük hayatta kullanılan eşyanın taslağını çizmiş ve sanat dünyasındaki eski gelenekleri aşmıştır. Sanat ve Zanaat arasında var olan sınırları reddetmiştir.
