John Douglas Cockcroft (d. 27 Mayıs 1897 Todmorden, İngiltere — ö. 18 Eylül 1967 Cambridge) İngiliz fizikçi.
Ernest Walton ile birlikte ilk kez atom çekirdeğini parçalayarak, nükleer çağın başlamasını sağlayan iki bilim insanından biri oldu. Bu deneyleri sayesinde 1951 yılında Nobel Fizik Ödülü'ne layık görüldüler.
Cambridge Üniversitesinin 1960'ta kurulan Churchill Koleji'nin ilk yöneticisi oldu. Ölümünden sonra Cambridge Üniversitenin mezarlığına gömüldü.
