John Guare (5 Şubat 1938, New York, New York, ABD doğumlu), yenilikçi ve çoğu zaman saçma dramalarıyla tanınan Amerikalı oyun yazarı.
11 yaşında ilk oyununu arkadaş ve aile için üreten Guare, Georgetown Üniversitesi, Washington, DC (BA, 1960) ve Yale Üniversitesi'nde (MFA, 1963) eğitim gördü. Daha sonra, özellikle New York'ta, Eugene O'Neill Memorial Tiyatrosu Oyun Yazarları Konferansı'nın kurulmasına yardımcı olduğu kısa oyunlar sahnelemeye başladı.
Guare ayrıca, özellikle Atlantic City (1980) adlı Akademi Ödülü adaylığı ve 1993 oyununun Altı Derece Ayrılma uyarlaması aldığı birkaç senaryo yazdı.
