The only monument in Russia to Prince Vasily I - the son and heir of Dmitry Donskoy, the long-term ruler of the Russian land. This is the only monument to pre-revolutionary Plyos, erected on Cathedral Hill near the Government Office building on the 500th anniversary of Plyos in 1910, with money from local merchants.
