The monument is quite young. On May 7, 2011, the city of Kolpino was awarded the honorary title "City of Military Glory" for the courage, perseverance and mass heroism shown by the defenders of the city in the struggle for freedom and independence of the Fatherland. Four years later, a memorial complex was opened: an 11-meter stele crowned with the coat of arms of the Russian Federation, and a monument to the Eternal Flame.
