In the year on the 30 September the day of the 76th anniversary of this event the stele «City of Military Glory» was officially unveiled. This granite column is 11,8 meters in high and two-headed bronze eagle on the top. The monument is situated not far from Kirov square. On the front side of the pedestal on the bronze cartouche there is a text of Presidential Decree awarding Petrozavodsk the name of City of Military Glory.
