The Moscow Archeology Museum opened in 1997. Its exposition is located in a pavilion, seven meters underground. The young museum is located very close to Red Square and the Historical Museum. Such an interesting location of the museum is explained by the large-scale archaeological excavations that were carried out in this area from 1993 to 1997.
