The Hangzhou Seawall Site Museum was opened to the public on Jan 7, 2020 after three years of construction. The 6,200-square-meter venue is the only museum dedicated to seawall ruins in China. Besides having a section featuring Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) era seawalls adorned with patterns of fish scales, the museum showcases the historical changes, cultural value, and spiritual symbolism of these structures through a wide range of collections, documents and cultural experience activities.
