The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, located in the northern capital of the country, is the largest museum in Central Asia. The construction of the museum began by the initiative of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was opened in 2014. The museum is located on Independence Square in the center of Astana.
