This is one of the oldest well preserved historic mosques in Saudi Arabia, it is next to Qasr Marid at the ancient city of Dumat Al Jandal, the mosque is beautiful and sets an example of the Classic architecture of the first Islamic mosques, Omar bin Alkhatab gave an order to build this mosque and hence it was called after him, the mosque.
